''Meanwhile Andy has also created and become the CEO of ecobrix.org.  This turns the vast amount of waste plastic plastic bottles piling up in Masaka (and everywhere in East Africa) into opportunity.  Local people bring waste plastic bottles to collection centres and they are paid for it.  Those who man the collection points are paid, the majority being invalids who would otherwise be out of work (and usually despised).  They arrange for the waste to be sent to the Ecobrixs processing centre where it is turned into flake, which can then be sold or turned into products to be sold back into the local community  -  a wonderful example of a "circular economy".  Bricks, garden furniture, paving, jewellery, face shields for health workers, fence posts, coasters etc have all been made and sold (or donated in the case of the face shields)''
